Matthew Curzon, now Deputy Head Nurse at The Pet Vet in Nottingham, visited the academy to speak with students about his route into veterinary nursing. After leaving Da Vinci Academy, Matthew went on to study at Hartpury University, where he achieved a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Nursing.
During his visit, Matthew spoke about the different stages of his career, the opportunities available within the veterinary profession and the importance of perseverance in achieving long-term goals. He also answered students’ questions, giving them a first-hand insight into working in animal healthcare.
Nathaniel Morley also returned to the academy to support pupils as part of its careers programme. Nathaniel is currently a Procurement Graduate Trainee at University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, having graduated from the University of York with a BA in Politics.
He volunteered his time to take part in mock interviews with students, helping them develop interview techniques and build confidence as they prepare for future employment opportunities.

Speaking to students reminded me of where my own journey began and I hope sharing my experiences showed them that there are many different pathways to achieving your goals. I hope students left feeling inspired to explore the opportunities available to them and to pursue the career that’s right for them.”
