Da Vinci Academy students inspired at Post-16 Evening

Da Vinci Academy recently welcomed students and parents to a Post-16 Evening, designed to give students the opportunity to explore a wide range of pathways after Year 11.

The event brought together 14 local post-16 providers, alongside representatives from local businesses including Rolls Royce, Derby City Council and the NHS. In addition, local education providers Derby College, Heanor Gate and Learning Curve offered students hands-on advice and guidance to plan their next steps.

The evening gave students the chance to speak directly with providers and employers, and ask direct questions about courses and entry requirements. The aim was to give students the opportunity to gather information to make informed choices about their future.

Students were encouraged to use their upcoming mock exams to achieve the best possible predicted grades, which will play a key role in securing places at their preferred post-16 destinations.

Parents were also welcomed to the event, offering an opportunity to support their children and take part in important conversations about potential pathways.

Following the evening, students will be supported by staff to attend individual provider open evenings and begin completing applications, ensuring they have plenty of choices for the next stage of their education.
