I am very proud to be the Headteacher at the Da Vinci Academy and feel privileged to work with our students, staff, parents/carers, governors and a local community who all expect the very best from our academy. It is my commitment to ensure that alongside the staff body the highest standard of education is delivered to your child.
The Da Vinci Academy is part of L.E.A.D. Academy Trust and through a shared vision and values we are dedicated to continually improving the quality of education and are fully committed to ensuring all our students achieve their full academic potential, irrespective of starting point.
Our students are at the heart of everything we do. We firmly believe that every member of our community matters and is valued for the unique contribution they make to our academy.
The friendly and professional staff have high expectations of themselves and for our students, they work closely to share best practice and drive improvement. We continually strive for excellence in all aspects of academy life.
We do place great emphasis on our standards agenda: we have high expectations of our students in terms of their approach to their learning, their conduct and behaviour, their uniform, their attendance and punctuality and their involvement in the everyday life of the school. We expect our students to conduct themselves in a manner that benefits the school and creates a welcoming and respectful environment for all.
Thank you for taking the time to look around our website and I hope you enjoy discovering more about our great academy. I look forward to meeting and working with all parents and carers in your child’s educational journey.
Miss Jayne Scattergood
University of Sheffield Visit
Four of our Year 11 students recently had an exciting day at the University of Sheffield as part of the Access to Sheffield Programme. They took part in fun and practical workshops to boost their revision and research skills and got a taste of university life through engaging sessions in Economics, History, and Aerospace Engineering. It was a fantastic opportunity for them to explore new subjects and start thinking about their future studies!

“I Can, I Will” — Students Taking a Stand Together
Creating a safe and respectful school environment starts with everyday choices—especially when students look out for one another. The “I Can, I Will” campaign encourages young people to recognise their power as active bystanders and to step in when something doesn’t feel right.
This term, students have been engaging in a bystander awareness session, exploring practical ways to respond to bullying, harassment, and harmful behaviours. From speaking up, to offering support to a friend, or seeking help from a trusted adult—every action makes a difference.
“I used to stay quiet because I didn’t know what to do. Now I feel more confident to step in when someone needs support.” — Year 9 Student

Last night we held our Post-16 Evening. We had 16 external providers in attendance and over 150 students and parents.
Students and parents were able to get first hand guidance on courses, apprenticeships and entry requirements.
It was great to have a number ex-Da Vinci students return to share their career journeys since leaving the Academy.
Thank you to all providers who attended and helped to make the evening a success! #ProudtobeDVA
